Samuel Brown Cabin
Samuel J. “Guy” Brown, Jr. (1877-1958) and Samuel Jerome Brown (1845-1925), in front of the family’s log cabin, around 1900. Originally a barracks for the scouts at Fort Sisseton, the cabin was moved to Brown’s Valley in 1866 by Joseph Renshaw Brown (1805-1870). Today the cabin serves as a museum, open to visitors on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day. (Photo courtesy of the Browns Valley Historical Society)
